    Offences & Fines

PARKING: in flow of traffic, away from footpath, against flow of traffic, on taxi stand, in not prescribed manner, at corner, within 15 meters on either side of bus stop, on bridge, at traffic island, in No Parking area, on footpath, in front of gate - Rs. 100/-

Towing Charges: Two Wheeler - Rs. 100/-, Car , Jeep, Taxi, Auto Richshaw - Rs. 200/-, Truck,Tanker,Trailor - Rs. 600/-

LICENSE: Driving without valid licence, driving without valid M.D.L, Under age of 18 yrs, Driving transport vehicle under age of 20 yrs - Rs. 300/-

DRIVING: Driving against Police signal, Driving in the centre/failed to keep left, Overtaking dangerously, Failing to give signal, Failing to slowdown at intersection, Reversing negligently, Disobeying traffic signal, Driving against one-way, Failing to keep left of traffic island, Taking ‘U’ turn during prohibited hours, Leaving vehicle in dangerous position, Carrying persons on footboard, Leaving vehicle with idling engine, Carrying persons causing obstruction to the driver - Rs. 100/-. Exceeding speed limit - Rs. 200/-.

Driving at excessive speed: Whoever drives a motor vehicle in contravention of the speed limits shall be punishable with a fine which may extend to Rs. 400/-, or, if having been previously convicted of an offence under this sub-section is again convicted of an offence under this sub-section, with fine which may extend to Rs. 1000/-.

Drunken driving or driving under the influence of drugs: Whoever, while driving, or attempting to drive, a Motor Vehicle:
•   Has in his blood, alcohol exceeding 30 mg. /per.100 ml. of blood detected in a test by a breath analyzer, or
•   Is under the influence of a drug to such an extent as to be incapable of exercising proper control over the vehicle,

Shall be punishable for the first offence with imprisonment for six months or with fine upto Rs. 2000/-, or with both; and for a second or subsequent offence if committed within 3 years of the commission if the previous similar offence, with imprisonment for 2 years or with fine which may extend to Rs. 3000/-, or with both.

POLLUTION: Fixing multi-toned / shrill horn, Silencer / muffler making noise, Smoky exhaust - Rs. 500/-. Using horn in silence zone - Rs. 100/-.
